AMC is a De Beers Sightholder, a recognition by the world’s premier mining house that we meet a stringent set of criteria and govern ourselves in accordance with the De Beers prescribed Best Practice Principles (BPP).
Our dedicated Compliance Officer conducts regular internal audits to ensure all AMC entities adhere to these principles. In 2006, AMC NV became one of the first companies that joined the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). Certified since 2011 it has been meeting the highest ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards ever since. Our clients can rest assured that the diamonds they purchase and the services we provide meet the highest levels of accountability and corporate governance.
AMC’s desire to operate with long term impact extends to our focus on sustainable development. We focus on helping people out of poverty by providing educational opportunities and real career prospects.
Since our inception we have been actively promoting and financing job creation, skills development and skills transfer in diamond mining communities, such as our pioneering work in South Africa. Our long-term vision is to hire people with little or no economic prospect and provide them with skills and a well paid career. Through our strict corporate governance principles AMC has a firm reputation as a first class, stable employer and trusted business partner.
Through carefully selected initiatives, AMC financially supports the less fortunate of our society. In the past, AMC has supported the ‘Huis Horison’ in South Africa, a home for handicapped adults. Today, AMC supports the intellectual disabled individuals in the community by providing training and direct employment in our factory in Stellenbosch.
